На официальном сайте Министерства нацбезопасности знаменитая "The Wall" безграмотным образом утратила артикль и превратилась из реального объекта в некий эфемерный метафизический символ.

Интересно, каким наиболее правильно перевести названия этого департамента на русский язык. По сути это ответление ФБР, аналог советского МГБ или российского ФСБ, где «государство» - это «state», а не «nation» или «public». Но Буш-младший спрятал страшное государство и прикрыл его мягким «очагом», «Родиной» — homeland. “Министерство безопасности Родины». У нас Родина-мать, у турков — Vatan, и вот у американцев — Homeland. “Министерство родимой стороны». Это силовой департамент, т. к. на него возложены антитеррористические задачи, он включил в себя ФМС (INS) и дублирует погранслужбу (ICE & CBP).... Википедия предлагает по-простому: «Министерство внутренней безопасности». МВБ.

Я помню, как многих насторожило тогда вбрасывание термина “homeland security”, как будто переведённого с другого языка. Создавая новое министерство, Буш ссылался на Трумана, как бы забывая про республиканскую традицию борьбы с излишней бюрократией.

В России он стал «Родиной» Павла Лунгина, в котором террористы стали чеченцами, а ЦРУ превратилось в ФСБ.
