В Вашингтоне происходят непонятные явления. С одной стороны, выход книжки "Fire and fire" произвел явный эффект "нового платья короля" и внятно подтвердил то, что и так многим было понятно о прогрессирующем угасании небогатого интеллекта действующего президента и о его полном несоответствии занимаемой должности верховного главнокомандующего.

С другой стороны, республиканские лидеры сплачиваются стеной вокруг Великого Вождя и, невзирая на ущерб для своей репутации, принимают беспрецедентные шаги для того, чтобы отмазать его от угрозы расследования. Может сложиться такое впечатление, что защита Трампа от Рашагейта превратилась в главный смысл существования республиканской партии.
